Southport Marine Lake is a man made lake just over one mile long and half a mile wide, it was created along with the beautiful Kings gardens in 1887 and for 135 years has been enjoyed by all, with various activities around and on the lake. Today you can take a classic self drive motorboat, gentle cruise around the lake enjoying all the sights of the South and North ends of the Marine Lake, we also have pedalos and for the adrenalin seekers we have a wild jet boat ride full of twists and turns! Not for the faint hearted!

Starting at Easter we have an array of boats for you to hire and enjoy the beautiful Southport Marine Lake. Classic family motorboats, a gentle lake cruise with commentary, relaxing pedalo hire or quick blast on the Southport Jet speed boat! Open on weekends and all sunny School holiday's, the Marine Lake is the perfect place for all ages. No need to pre book, just head to our lakeside ticket office (located next to the Pier) and enjoy an action packed full of memories.
SELF LAUNCH SUP/KAYAK
​Open 365 days a year (except for adverse weather), if you have your own paddleboard or kayak we welcome you to self launch at Southport Marine Lake. Please be aware, this is a boating lake and various commercial boats and sailing boats also operate on the lake. We have a map located on the licence page indicating restricted areas and preferred boat routes, please take the time to view all of the safety information. We advise purchasing your permit before you arrive (as phone reception can be intermittent on the lake edge). There are several options for permits this summer from an evening permit covering from 18.00-21.00, a full day pass from 06.00-21.00 and a full season pass. All include parking.
